How cool would it be if you could wear the same outfit for work, for any physical activity or just lounging on your couch? That is the new trend mirroring the modern worker’s lifestyle.
While many of us have seen a new dawn of the work culture after the pandemic shook the entire world, the need for making homestays more comfortable has erupted. Whether it is about attending a virtual meeting or just lounging at home,
people are now diverting their focus towards comfortable clothing. Fortunately, being comfortable does not mean you can’t look confident and presentable.
Although cozy fashion is catching on in these times, people want their clothes to do more – they want their loungewear to be minimalistic and versatile. Something that is a little form-fitting so it could be worn as athleisure, something that is so soft and breathable to be worn as pure leisure wear or something that has neutral colors and crisp material to be worn as workwear. People want to have all this versatility in one outfit. It is nice to see this category develop, transitioning into a choice that fits into their modern lifestyles, as consumers wear it both in and outdoors. It started with nonessential workers embracing leisure wear, but now people from every walk of life are seen adapting to this lifestyle. Their priority, when it comes to fashion, has now shifted to feeling more relaxed.
With that, there arises a need to bridge the gap between traditional work attire and at-home loungewear, in order to make people feel stylish, confident and comfortable at the same time. Apparel now needs to give comfort and confidence to the people. Even though most businesses are remote now, there is still the need to look presentable for your virtual zoom calls or increasingly flexible working habits and this trend should be taken forward to the in-person work culture as well. It is when the world has become homebound that people have started prioritizing investing in loungewear, however, loungewear should be the new normal for people beyond the work-from-home culture. We all deserve to be, and should be, comfortable at work than spend time worrying about the creases on our shirts or sitting a particular way because your outfit demands it. Why should anyone be uncomfortable at work instead of focusing all their energy into their work. We should normalize the culture of loungewear at work for at least the people who prefer being comfortable at work. Comfort is definitely the key, along with versatility, to let people wear the product in tune with their own style. People are looking for ways to mix and match or build a collection of transferrable pieces, to be able to style it in their own way..
And let’s not forget the sustainability element, when people invest in minimalistic versatile clothing that serves almost every purpose of their daily routines. With minimalistic and flexible shopping habits, people limit their purchases, contributing to a sustainable lifestyle.
